Richard Tillquist, M.D., Bariatric Surgeon Richard Tillquist, M.D., is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and performed cancer research at both the University of Colorado Medical Center and the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Tillquist then earned his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and completed a general surgery internship and residency at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Tillquist has more than 18 years of experience in bariatric surgery, performing laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. He also has continued interest in all areas of general surgery, including hernia, gallbladder, colon, thyroid, parathyroid, hiatal hernia, and other advanced laparoscopic surgeries. Dr. Tillquist is married and has two children. A Colorado native, he enjoys hiking, fishing, golf, and woodworking. She has been the Bariatric Patient Coordinator for Colorado Bariatric Surgery since 2002. Her responsibilities include: all secretarial needs for the office, organizing pre-operative testing exams, obtaining surgery pre-approvals, and scheduling all aspects of the surgery and follow-up appointments. |
